About Ron ter Burg

Ron ter Burg has started with photography in 1991. In the  analogue era Ron has tough himself the basic techniques of photography. Since the year 2003 Ron went completely digital.

In the first years of his photography career Ron was already fascinated by the beauty of the landscapes. Besides landscape photography, the nature photography is also a great passion of Ron ter Burg. The beautiful lines and colors in the landscapes en the strength and the beauty of nature are his great source of inspiration. In his pictures Ron tries to reflect the feeling and emotions of that moment with beautiful light, colors and a good play of lines. The beauty and dignity of the subject are the headlines in Ron's photography.

 

Field of activity
The main part of Ron's pictures are taken in The Netherlands. The National Parc Lauwersmeer and the Waddenzee are Ron's most favorite areas. This area contains all subjects a landscape- and nature photographer wishes. Other areas where you can find Ron regularly are: National Parc Drents-Friese Wold, National Parc Dwingelderveld and the Fochteloërveen.

Equipment

Ron uses Canon equipment for his photography. His mainly used camera is a Canon EOS 20D and a Canon EOS 5D mark2. The lenses Ron uses vary from 17 tot 400 millimeter. His equipment is supported by a Gitzo tripod and a Manfrotto balhead. This is an ideal and very solid combination. Ron uses various add-ons as flashes, various filters, Sandisk Extreme III flash cards etc. etc.

Picture developement and storage

Ron uses Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Elements 8 and Canon Photo Professional for post processing. As back-up media for his image-library Ron uses Lacie external harddisks.
